Planned Diversions:

Route 233

ROAD CLOSURE
Route 233 via Coachford
From Weds. 19th March to Fri. 4th April, 2025 incl.

Cork County Council have advised that R619-19, between Coachford and Model Village will be closed to traffic from Wednesday, 19th March to Friday, 4th April, 2025, inclusive.

Route 233 via Coachford will operate inbound and outbound via R618 (main road) for duration of closure.



Routes 40 & 233: Macroom Diversion

Thurs. 27th March to Fri. 2nd May 2025 (incl)

Monday to Friday Only - From 19:00hrs to 06:00hrs nightly

Cork County Council have advised that roadworks in Macroom town will move to western side and will be in place nightly from 19:00hrs to 06:00hrs nightly, from Thursday, 27th March to Friday, 2nd May 2025, inclusive.

Works are in place Monday to Friday only. The road is open Sat/Sun and services should operate as per normal at weekends.

As a result, the following routes should operate on diversion:

• Route 40:

o 19:00 ex Cork

o 20:30 ex Cork

o 17:50 ex Tralee

• Route 257

o 17:35 ex Killarney

o 19:55 ex Macroom

Route 40 services from Cork should operate as per normal to Macroom Depot. On departing from Macroom Depot to continue to Tralee, buses should turn left and continue to roundabout for Macroom By-Pass (N22). Take second exit to join Macroom By-Pass (N22) and as per normal route.

Route 40 services from Tralee, after joining Macroom By-Pass (N22) should remain on the By-Pass to roundabout at eastern side of Macroom. Take the second exit to Macroom town and continue as normal to Macroom Depot. On departing Macroom Depot, turn left and follow normal route to Cork.

Route 257 from Killarney to Macroom should operate as per normal route on R582 until roundabout. Join the Macroom By-Pass by taking the exit (left) for Cork, continue ahead until roundabout at eastern side of Macroom, then take second exit to Macroom town and continue to Macroom Depot.

Route 257 from Macroom to Killarney, should turn left when departing Macroom Depot and continue to roundabout with Macroom By-Pass (N22). Take the second exit for the By-Pass and continue ahead until slip road for Millstreet. Take the slip road to join R582, turning left to R582 and continue as normal.


Route 214 Diversion, Saturday, 5th April, 2025

Customers are advised that due to road closure to facilitate an event marking the unveiling of Teddy McCarthy Statue outside of Sarsfields Hurling Club, Route 214 will operate on a diversion route between 14:45hrs and 16:15hrs on Saturday, 5th April, 2025.

Route 214 will operate through Glanmire to Hazelwood Road, then turning at the roundabout on Hazelwood Road to return to Glanmire.
