Please note the following service disruption in the western and northwestern region on Thursday, 9th April 2026.

Due to the fuel cost protests, several routes nationwide are experiencing considerable delays. 

There are slow-moving convoys and a barricade in Sligo town affecting all services. In addition, there slow-moving convoys on the N18 (Ennis Road), starting in Bunratty heading towards Limerick.

Route 72
Due to a protest in Cloghan, services on Route 72 will divert at Birr. Cloghan, Ferbane and Ballinahowen will not be served.
14:25 Limerick to Athlone - diverted.
17:45 Athlone to Limerick - diverted, ALSO delayed 1 hour.


Route 51
12:25 Cork to Galway - cancelled.
13:05 Galway to Cork - cancelled. 
13:25 Cork to Galway - cancelled from Shannon Airport to Galway.
14:25 Cork to Galway - cancelled.
16:05 Galway to Limerick - cancelled. This service will operate from Limerick to Cork.
16:25 Cork to Galway - cancelled. This service will operate from Limerick to Galway.


Route 52
16:00 Galway to Ballina - delayed by 20 minutes.


Route 64
13:15 Derry to Galway - delayed by 1 hour.
14:00 Sligo to Galway - delayed by 50 minutes.
15:30 Derry to Galway - delayed by 1 hour.
16:00 Galway to Derry - delayed by 45 minutes.


Routes 343 and 51
Due to a slow-moving convoy on the N18 (Ennis Road), starting in Bunratty heading towards Limerick, considerable delays are expected for the remainder of the day.

15:15 Carraroe to Galway - delayed by 30 minutes.


Route 450
14:35 Louisburgh to Dooagh - cancelled from Westport.
14:45 Dooagh to Louisburgh - delayed.
16:45 Dooagh to Louisburgh - commencing from Achill.
